Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Quill Compass. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website and services. By accessing this site or engaging in any of our services, including ghostwriting, editing, formatting, design, publishing, marketing, and related offerings; you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these terms in full. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not proceed with using our website or services.
1. Service Overview
Quill Compass provides customized services to authors, including but not limited to ghostwriting, book editing, proofreading, formatting, illustration, cover design, marketing, web development, and publishing support. Each service is tailored to meet the unique requirements of the client and will be outlined clearly in a project agreement or proposal document prior to engagement.
Project timelines, deliverables, and pricing will be established in advance, and no work will begin without formal written confirmation from the client. The scope of each service is determined through consultation and documented in writing. Any requests outside the initial scope may require a new agreement or incur additional charges.
2. Client Responsibilities
Clients engaging with Quill Compass agree to provide accurate, timely, and complete information as requested during the course of the project. This may include source materials, outlines, interviews, manuscript drafts, brand assets, and any other necessary content required for service delivery.
Clients are responsible for responding to communications and providing feedback or approvals in a timely manner. Delays in feedback or content delivery on the client’s part may result in adjusted timelines or paused service delivery until the necessary input is provided.
3. Fees, Payments, and Invoicing
All service fees will be clearly outlined in the agreed-upon proposal or contract. A non-refundable deposit is typically required to secure a project slot. Payment plans or milestone-based invoicing may be offered for larger projects. Remaining balances are due according to the schedule specified in the service agreement.
Payments must be made via approved payment methods. Late payments beyond seven (7) days may result in work suspension, interest charges, or additional administrative fees. Quill Compass reserves the right to withhold deliverables or pause progress until payment obligations are fulfilled.
4. Revisions and Project Scope
Each service includes a defined number of revision rounds, which will be specified in your agreement. Revisions are limited to changes based on the original brief or direction provided at the start of the project. Requests for additional revisions, new directions, or changes outside the agreed-upon scope will be subject to additional charges.
We aim to deliver high-quality, customized work. However, creative preferences vary, and it is the client’s responsibility to communicate expectations clearly at the beginning of the project and during revision phases.
5. Intellectual Property and Ownership
Upon full and final payment, all rights to the original content created for the client (e.g., ghostwritten manuscripts, edited books, illustrations, designs, websites) will be transferred to the client, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
Quill Compass reserves the right to showcase non-confidential portions of design, illustration, or web development work in our professional portfolio, unless explicitly requested otherwise by the client. Ghostwritten materials will never be shared or claimed without the client’s written permission.
6. Confidentiality
We take confidentiality seriously. Any personal, professional, or creative information shared by the client will remain private and secure. We do not disclose, share, or sell client information or project details to third parties unless required by law or with the client’s written consent.
Any materials provided by the client; such as unpublished manuscripts, business strategies, or personal stories, will be handled with care and respect for the client’s privacy.
7. Refund and Cancellation Policy
Due to the nature of creative and professional service work, all deposits and payments made are non-refundable once work has commenced. In the event that a project is canceled by the client mid-process, any completed work will be billed proportionately, and all rights to that work will remain with Quill Compass until payment is made in full.
In rare cases where Quill Compass must cancel a project due to unforeseen circumstances, the client will be notified promptly, and a fair resolution; such as partial refund or transfer of work completed to date—will be arranged.
8. Disclaimer of Guarantees
Quill Compass does not guarantee specific publishing outcomes, book sales, bestseller status, media features, or other results that may depend on market conditions, reader response, platform algorithms, or other factors beyond our control.
While we make every effort to provide high-quality, strategic support and guidance, clients understand that publishing and marketing results may vary, and no outcome is guaranteed.
